Study: Premarital abstinence pledges are... →
The new analysis of data from a large federal survey found that more than half of youths became sexually active before marriage regardless of whether they had taken a “virginity pledge,” but that the percentage who took precautions against pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases was 10 points lower for pledgers than for non-pledgers. Shocking!

White Farmers Confront Mugabe; Like Ivory! →
The haul from the homes and the farm included 1,760 pounds of ivory, 14 handmade guns, 14 refrigerators and freezers, 5 stoves, 3 tractors, a pickup truck and 400 tons of oranges, the family said. That’s a lot of ivory! I was completely on their side until I read that. Now all I can think about is the ivory dealer who wants to buy Bart’s elephant. Lisa: I think even that check is...

How A Recount is Done When the GOP Isn't Stealing... →
“I want to put an underline, we don’t care as long as it’s accurate and we’ve done it in an accurate and transparent way. We don’t care when it’s done.” So the only thing that matters is getting the count right. In fact, they are willing to go past Jan. 8, the swearing in date for new Senators, to make sure the count is done correctly. Contrast that...

Groans are issuing from the Googleplex over this year’s holiday bonus. In the past, the search engine paid cash — as much as $20,000 or $30,000 per Googler, we hear. This year? A cell phone.

He said his brother had told him that he was brutally beaten by several men and burned on his right ear by a cigarette. Uday al-Zaidi said that on Sunday his brother had bruises on his face, stitches on the bridge of his nose and swelling in his legs, arms and hands.
